About Me

I am a born and raised Minnesotan who recently had an opportunity to live in Hawaii for a year and a half. I have now moved back home to be back near my family. During these trying times, I realized how important family and friends are. Growing up in MN has really shown me the meaning of Minnesota nice, how to value what you have and what a strong work ethic can get you.

I am a graduate of the amazing Iowa State University (Go Cyclones!) with my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. In my four years at Iowa State, I have been involved in magazines, marketing and advertising clubs, and graphic design groups that have given me experience in working in teams and for clients. It has helped me grow in my creativity, my friendships, and my life skills.

Since graduating, I have worked at a magazine firm designing layouts for the articles. I have worked as a product designer creating pet products, like dog beds, by choosing fabrics, colors/patterns and shape of the product. I worked with a project start to finish. I created the specs, approved the samples and even worked on packaging/design for final product in stores. I also worked as a graphic designer for Maui Divers Jewelry where I create the collateral for store signage, digital and print advertising, company branding elements and web imagery. This job also taught me a little in the marketing realm of things. I learned about budgeting, social/email calendar planning, submitting art to publications and contacting partners/publication contacts. I have developed many skills by working in these environments and I am only continuing to grow.

I have since grown into my newest endeavor of side stepping to Product Management. This current role has taught me about how you can always learn new skills and grow. This role has taught me the importance of structure that needs to compliment a design process. I have enjoyed this role’s organizational needs and how they relate to maintaining a creativity outlet. I work with a program developing items from start to finish, making sure to maintain timing and objectives. I work closely with my own design team as well as the outside vendors. It is very rewarding to see your hard work in the stores once the program is completed.

I am a constant dreamer, always thinking out of the box and imaging that anything can happen. I try to incorporate those thoughts and dreams into my work. I feel I am constantly growing and I can't wait for what adventure is next.
